Master Plan

The master plan of the Fairhope Airport Authority is in alignment with the Eastern Shore Metropolitan Planning Organization’s resolution strategies to create a support infrastructure to accommodate the needs and demands associated with anticipated growth of aviation-related industries in Baldwin County. The focus of the west side is to develop the Alabama Advantage site acreage into a premier commercial site on the Eastern Shore by building the infrastructure and recruiting major commercial tenants. The Airport Authority will continue to develop the Wetlands Mitigation Bank and market the sale of credits in the state of Alabama. The Airport Capital Improvement Plan (AIP) calls for the construction of an east side general aviation terminal, fuel farm, taxiways, and aprons by 2018.

 

The Fairhope Airport Authority is seeking private investors to build additional corporate hangars on the east side and recruiting aviation related businesses. Current commitments for new capital projects total $2.4 million.

The Fairhope Industrial Park

Designated Alabama Advantage shovel ready site available for commercial development. The 110 acre site has 75 contiguous acres for development located within the city limits of Fairhope. The site has road frontage on County Road 32 and is approximately 12 miles south of I-10.

Developed a Wetlands Mitigation Bank

Mitigation banking gives land owners and developers who need to ‘mitigate’, or compensate for developmental impacts to wetlands, the option of purchasing credits rather than restoring or creating wetlands on or near the development site.
